Halloween is coming and making fun and spooky Halloween-themed crafts is a great way to keep the kids busy. This cute Halloween bat craft using empty paper rolls and craft paper is not too scary, so even younger kids will love making these. (You may want to cut out the parts for them though!)
Cute Halloween Bat Craft for Kids
List of Supplies:
- Colored craft papers (including black or grey)
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Craft glue
- Toilet paper roll (or paper towel roll)
Instructions:
Step 1:
Take a toilet paper roll and cut it into half. You can keep the full length if you want to, but cutting it shorter makes the bat look cuter.
(You can also use empty paper towel rolls for this craft, but you will need to cut them into thirds or even quarters rather than half.)
Step 2:
Cut out a strip from black or grey coloured craft paper to cover the toilet paper roll.
Step 3:
Apply glue on the half cut toilet paper roll and wrap the paper strip around its (toilet paper roll) outer surface.
Step 4:
Print and cut out the eyes and fangs from the provided template. Trace the mouth on pink paper and ear patterns on black or grey paper. Cut them out nicely.

Step 5:
Attach the eyes on the paper wrapped toilet paper roll. Glue the eyes near the top end of the roll.
Step 6:
Now attach the mouth and the ears. Glue the ears on the top inner side of the roll; and glue the mouth below the eyes.
Step 7:
Finally, glue the fangs over the bat’s mouth. Be sure to keep the pointy edge of the fangs facing downwards.
Step 8:
Trace the wings pattern on any coloured craft paper you prefer. Cut it out nicely.
Step 9:
Glue the toilet paper roll bat onto the middle part of the wing pattern.
Ta-da! You’ve made yourself an adorable little bat! Now grab some more toilet paper rolls and make some more cute Halloween bats in other colours.
